Taking up the old spear and summoning new courage, William turned to face the forces of darkness. As they approached, however, he watched as the twisted beings paused and knelt at his presence.
He again heard the whisper, though now it spoke clearly in his mind:
“Welcome, proud warrior,” it said. “There is much to explain…”
