I found a new WordPress theme that I really like. I’ve been tweaking it a bit here and there to better fit how I want things organized, but overall it’s solid. So credit goes to Antbag for putting it together.
I’ve set up a Contact page to allow easy communication from the random visitor. Working on a Links section, and I have plenty more People lined up for posting in the coming weeks. Also have another side project that I might make a page describing when I organize my thoughts.
Between all these web things I’ve managed to make a poster-sized map for my book, and have been adding to my notes for the story almost daily. Plenty to do!

So I had this idea to sketch out and write a bit about someone that plays some sort of role in my life. I would say “every day” or “every other day,” but every time I do it lasts like three days and then is never mentioned again(except regretfully). If I did continue, it would not always be someone that I know particularly well. It could be someone that I simply see regularly for some specified reason, such as the one I’ll detail below.

Disappointed Man is a guy that works at the fish section of a local grocery store. I see him almost every time that I go shopping. There used to be another girl that worked there sometimes but she’s vanished. She was kind of cheery and I think she decided to move on.
Disappointed Man always looks disappointed to see me. Or to see anyone. And to sell fish. And to be there. I think that’s his life. Being disappointed. I’ve had the notion to simply tell him one day, “You know, you always look so unhappy. Maybe you should quit this fish stuff and go become a roadie or something.” I don’t know what he’d say. He might just be disappointed that some guy is trying to tell him how to run his life.

I just tried the site in Internet Explorer and found that it looks very, very broken. I’ll work on getting that ironed out…
Until it’s fixed I’m going to switch to the default WordPress layout.

And now Paperninja.net is open once again. Originally created way back in August of 2001, this place has gone through a few changes in layout and direction. Overall, it was always intended to be a collection of my “creative works.” Previously that was limited to graphite-and-paper artwork and a few other random projects, but nothing ever especially consistent or long-lasting. All of that old stuff will probably not be re-posted, as it feels hardly reflective of my more recent work.
I think that this re-emergence is based mostly on some recent re-prioritizing of my time and energy. As some people close to me know, I spent February 15th-21st in the hospital due to a pretty terrible illness. It knocked a lot out of me, and afterward I found that certain things didn’t hold the appeal that they used to. One thing that has changed is that I have had a sudden resurgence of interest in creative outlets. This website went through quite a bit of neglect over the past couple of years, and it seemed like time to try once again to present and maintain a collection of shareable works.
I’ve invested some time into experimenting with CSS and PHP in order to utilize WordPress as a website backbone. It seems pretty handy thus far, and after many hours of experimentation I’ve forged this meager layout. The about section has a basic outline of what I hope to do with the website at this point. I happen to have a few things laying around that can be posted, so this starting week will actually come accompanied with material. With any luck it won’t be the last week with new content….
