As some people might know, I’ll be leaving town next Monday to visit California for six days. I’ll be looking around for a while to see what this whole California thing is about, as well as dropping by some little convention that’s going down next weekend. Travel!
While I’m gone I would like to have things to post. This is where you come in. A little over a week ago I mentioned that I’d like to see little articles about me made by some of the people that I’ve posted here. Or just people in general. I didn’t really give a due date and as a result I’ve received zero entries.
Now there is a due date.
I would like to have some together by this Saturday(worst-case, Sunday) in order to start organizing them and creating posts for my downtime. I’d like to set it up so one gets posted each day while I’m away, to let people read and make fun of me while I’m far away from technology. As I mentioned before, an accompanying picture/drawing isn’t required, but it’s an option. So get workin’, if you are so inclined. If I can make seven of these a week I would hope that someone can get one of these done after a week and a half.
I’ll keep a running tally here to give an idea of how many I have. The goal is seven, though if I get more I’ll let them keep going until they’re all out.

I got about five hours of uninterrupted sleep last night, which is some kind of record for me. As a result I feel positively chipper today. Let’s see what I can get done.
One thing that’s slowed down some of my efforts is the fact that I’m fast running out of pictures. I use photos as a basis for almost all of these, but don’t have an especially vast collection. I thought that I would make an appeal for assistance in that respect, as I know that people read this site that might have access to some pictures I don’t have. I’ll just throw out some names, and if it’s the name of someone you know that I know, try sending me a picture or two:
Billy, Jett, Mike, Annick, Nana, Anu, Sandy, Angela, Anderson, Bill, Fruit Bat, Lucia, Erik, and Tim.
If I think up any others I’ll point out as much, though this should be a decent start(if I get anything).

This is kind of an odd problem, but my “backup” monitor is starting to fail. It now constantly flickers between a deep, dingy yellow and a bright white tint. I had a new widescreen monitor that died(after three months!) and is awaiting an RMA. This one sometimes clears up long enough to stop distracting me and allow the selection of the right colors while working on an image, though I don’t know how long this poor old thing is going to hold up. If I miss any future posts that’s probably why.
Sadness.

I have had a bit of insomnia garrote my attempts to rest and replenish. It’s difficult to concentrate as a result. I think it’s something mental. Junk. So I’m doing what I can: spending a majority of my time cleaning and organizing my room. It’s a mess. A big mess. And there’s stuff that I’ve accumulated over the years that is just distracting clutter at this point.
That’s all probably a terribly poor excuse for not creating a People article tonight. Or tomorrow night. While the project is not on indefinite hold, it is sidelined while I try to organize and figure out how to get some sleep at night. I’ll still be making something each day, it just won’t always be related to one particular project.
I have two things that will necessitate people sending me things. I will outline those in detail tomorrow. I might blend one of them into the People project. I have a person’s name written on my calendar for every day from last Tuesday through the end of the month, so I’m not especially lacking in ideas. Just energy. And energy is everything.

Hooray, weekend! Here are a few links relevant to some of the People I’ve brought up in the past week or so.
- HOW to ART – Collection of some of David’s
work. Click on the different mice or anything on the page for various projects. The purple mouse project, “Dinosaur Derrek,” makes me really happy.
- Blackmoontides – Personal website of Percy. It hasn’t been updated in…a while, but I hear there’s a big revision coming soon.
- Jungle Workz – Julian, Chan, and a few other UH alumni have gathered together to try to make a collaborative graphics/art-related entity. Right now it’s sparse, as its content relies on Julian suddenly not being useless and Chan sticking to something.
